I have been in the market to upgrade to a 25 walkaround from a 21' center console. I want to stay below 55,000 with twins. These 2 boats fit my price range locally. I am not about to decide which to buy, and am open to suggestions about other brands. I just need an honest opinion about which of these will give the better ride in the northern gulf chop. (2-4 steep) and also following sea, outgoing tide returns throught the inlets.

I'd rather lose a foot of boat and go with the Aquasport. It is a better made boat than the Striper and the ride is absolutlet better. I would simply go with quality here.

I have a 2003 250 explorer with twin 150 Yamahas. Just last weekend I was 30 miles off shore and had to come back in a 5 footers. Needless to say the boat did great. I shark and tuna fish offshore all of the time and it has yet to give me a problem. The big difference between the Aquasport and the Striper is the cabin space. the Aquasport is all cockpit, any serious fisherman would get it. The striper has less cockpit but more cabin. From what I know of the striper it is a harder ride but a dryer ride. the boat rides great BUT when it gets nasty, you will get home but WET!! E-mail me if you have any questions.

Has anyone found the front-positioned helm on the Aquasport 250 Explorer to cause unacceptable pounding? Also, its a heavy hull - will a Yamaha 225 4 stroke move it to plane well enough? I'm not looking to hot rod it but also don't want it to be too sluggish either.

I'd really appreciate your thoughts on that. Many thanks.

i have a 23 cc striper and when we were in the marked for a new boat we looked at every boat there is and striper seemed to be the best the ride was way better then the aquasports and the aqua was way to crowded but had very high gunnles but inturn that gave it a little less mpg but hay i got a striper and i couldent be any happier but w\e boat you chose go with what u want and the best price

Hi, I own a 2003 Aquasport Explorer 250 Tournament Series. I bought it brand new at the Central Florida Boat Show. It has twin Yamaha 115 outboards. I regularly fish the stream out of Port Canaveral which is generally anywhere from 28-35 miles out. I love my boat and would not trade it for many others which I have been in for a number of reasons. The first and foremost is the sense of security that I have in the boat itself. I have been in some pretty rough sea (5-7 and not on purpose) and was able to safely navigate in these seas. The twin 115 will max out at 42mph with a moderate load. It has a 150 gallon tank and a HUGE cockpit for fishing. The cabin will sleep 2 but due to the cockpit being a large portion of the boat, the cabin is small.

Due to a back injury and upcoming surgery later this month. My Dr advised that I would not be allowed in a boat for nearly a year. I have been thinking about putting her up for sale, but have not officially done so. But if you are interested please contact me. I have a full series of pictures that I took one day after washing her down and putting her away. I can be reached at 407.292.5479.

Dealers, please save both of our time and dont call.
