Is there a good left hand retrieve conventional saltwater reel on the market? I have been fishing freshwater bass with left handed gear for years. I'm having a bad time trying to adjust when I go out for Albies, and unfortunately I have lost some good fish. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks...
I went throught the same thing, nice left handed baitcasters (and spinners) for largemouth bass...and use the same for srtipers. I was looking for good left handers for bigger saltwater species. Then I got on some amberjack, cobia, red drum etc with left handed ABU big game reel and my left arm quickly tired. Let me tell you...you want a right hand reel for big fish. If you are right handed, you need the strength of your right hand to crank, left holds the rod. You'll get used to it and appreciate it. You'll cast em fine and I'm pretty sure all the manufacturers make their reels right hand retrieve because they know about cranking big fish.

Since I started most of my fishing with lefthand-retrieve baitcasting reels, I wanted te same for my saltwater fishing.
After looking around a lot I found a brand that support a "lefty's" needs.
I ended up with a lefthand AVET-LX 6-1(choice of several gear-ratios and finishes, good fighting handle, lever drag and superb finishing) for my medium haevy saltwater encounters, and I can tell you that these beauties handle even big (salt or freshwater), speedy fish without giving a crimp.
For realy BIG fish your better off with a good right-hander, even 'cause building a big "lefty" is often a bit more expensive....

I use everols for my left hand trolling reels. they offer left hand on all there models. I have 5/0 50 lps &
6/0 wide 80lbs. If your looking for lefties they are the best 10 percent more for lefties.
