I just ran across the ad in your magazine. Wow what a nice looking boat. Wondering if anyone has been out on a sea-trail? Thanks so much

But to the first reply, if you are going to say anything about the boat at all, be adult enough to give your name. It is a boat that I would be interested in seeing though.

I went on a sea-trial in Marathon,Fla. Gulf Coast Yacht Sales sells the B&D in South Florida. The boat is very dry and as smooth a ride you will find in her class. We cruised at 44mph and topped out around 54mph with twin 225 Yamaha's. She is fit for any sea. It handled the 3-4 ft chop I was in like nothing else. The broker told me that they are sold out until mid-April. If you are interested they will be at the Stuart Boat Show in mid-Jan. Thinking about trading in my Contender for this awesome center console.

I have been able to run both boats. Both boats are finished really nice and the rides are awesome. If I was going to purchase one I would go with the Davis. Davis just seems to have a much nicer finish.

if it is anything like his other boats he has built it is going to be junk. and when he folds again you will loose any or all of your guarentees. his track record speaks volumes.

Im really surprised by some of these replies. The finish of the boat is sub par. I went out with the dealer at my ************************ and was impressed by the performance of the boat, but come on. After a week he has already found himself having to recaulk half the boat. The layout is....well ok at best, which is going to changed by the manufacturer. The sliding doors over the electronics box is useless. Its a big 26' boat and rides just as that. Its not a 28' and anyone who thinks a 26' with a bracket rides like a boat with two more feet of hull has lost their marbles. Its over priced and needs a lot of refining. I fish a 32' Regulator and the fit, finish, and ride is not even in the same catagory. The B@D rides light and is more geared towards the SKA tour. In my oppinion its more of a Bluewater boat, but what do I know. Hopefully with the feedback they recieve from the 28' the 34' will be what we would all expect from a boat maker of the caliber. It is a very nice boat, but still needs some work.

I have a good friend of mine that purchased this boat a few months ago. We went on our first blue water fishing trip a few weeks ago. WOW is all I could say during the fishing trip. I have fished several different CC in my life time so far, from Regulator, Contender, Hydra Sport, and Edgewater to name a few. I was very impressed with the ride and finish of the boat. I was also told by him that his boat is so much nicer then the first few that they put out. I’m sure each one they put out is nicer then the last one. Every boat manufacture goes thru that when building a new model. We fished all day caught 4 wahoo, 3 yellowfin and 1 sail. On the way home he got caught in 3-5 foot seas and the boat preformed awesome. It had to be one of the softest driest CC I have ever been on. I give the boat a 10!!!

WOW !!! LOTS OF DIFFERENT OPINIONS ON THIS BOAT. IT HAS CAUGHT MY EYE AND WILL BE MAKING A DESISSIONS SHORTYL. THE FORWARD SEATING AREA REALLY IMPRESSED ME FOR THE FAMILY AND ENTERTAINING FOLKS. LOOKS LIKE IT HAS THE GUY THING GOING FOR FISHING AND THE LADY THING GOING IN THE BOW. NOTHING ELSE OUT THEIR HAS THE SEATING AND COMFORT AS THE BD 28 CC

There are loads of other CC's in this size range which offer comfort and fishing attributes at least as good if not better than this boat, which IMO is one of the most wildly overpriced and overhyped 26's with a bracket I have ever seen. The Mckee Craft 28 comes to mind, so does the Regulator 26 FS, and the SeaVee 29 and a load of others.

They took a regulator 26, flipped it upsidedown, and copy the buttom. And the BD "28" really 26 was borned.

I have not ridden in this boat, however it would be nice if you guys whom are bashing the boat would use spell check before you submitted your remarks. How can anyone can take you serious. Buddy Davis builds quality boats, and like all new models this one probably needs tweeking.
For you Regulator guys, Contender builds the best rough water CC hands down.

I fished a 28' B&D powered with the Yamaha 250 4 strokes in June out of NC. 1st of all, the boat was very slow to plane with only 3 people onboard & full load of fuel. Top speed was only 43 MPH, not knots, and cruise was only 35 MPH @ 4400 RPM. Secondly, due in part to the excessive amount of flair, the boat was very sensitive to laying into the wind, as well as tender if 1 person moved from center, making it very aggravating to maintain proper trim. I was also disappointed as to how wet she was, even in a 2-3 foot chop. All in all, I was not satisfied with the performance, nor is her current owner whom is now ordering a Yellowfin. Plus, based on Buddy's history, I would be concerned with obtaining satisfactory warranty coverage and perhaps resale value as a result.

I would be most concerned about the company existing a couple years from now. While some of his boats are pleasing to the eye, Buddy's track record for keeping companies afloat leaves much to be desired. If the company sinks down the line you will regret buying one.

I can tell you from selling these boats and riding in them all over Florida that the 28 and 34 are exceptional. If you would like a test ride feel free to call me. We keep two in Palm Beaches and two in St.Petersburg.

I have owned quite a few center console boats, and ridden in a lot of other brands as well. I sea trialed the 28' in Manteo, was given a tour of the factory by Bill Pierce and Buddy Davis and after seeing how well these boats are engineered and overbuilt I bought one. I had them delete the leaning post and not install any controls in the console, they were very accomodating. We set the helm on the centerline and installed a release marine sailfish chair as the helm/angler seat. this boat was taken twice to the Bahamas and I used it extensively down there, I have had as many as ten people on board running in 3-5' seas with no backs and we all had a soft dry comfortable ride. The fit and finish is exceptional and I have not had any issues with this boat after one and a half seasons and over 500 hours of use. The comments about copying a regulator are partially true but the true essence of ALL Carolina boats were copied from Merritts and Rybovichs, and refined for the conditions of the outer banks, ask Omie Tillet, Or Billy Holton they will tell you the same thing

I looked A brand new one of these boats Over Very Well the other day. Impressive Bow Flare, with Impressive Yach, Fit, and Finish. The Beast was powered by Twin YAMAHA 300s. The Owner took me for a ride in quartering 3 to 5 footers. She halls major a*s and splits the Seas Like a Hot Knife in butter. Good Job Buddy Davis!!!!
