I will go to Indonesia for vacation next july. Does anyone know if there is some kind of game fishing available ? For example in Bali or Lombok. Could you recommend any charter operator ?

just come to ambon, the name of the village is tulehu. ask for ambade lestaluhu en charter his big prauw with engine. this is the tradisional way howe the peopel from ambon do there big game and i can tell you whooooww 175 kilo sailfish, try to ficht that. the waters there are not yet disturbt by big boats or trolling orgies!! most of the billfish dident yet learn the differens and can not sea danger yet. go and see the price is 500000 p day. fine hotel near by. mail me and i can organise it for u.

Could I perhaps suggest you try posting to this following very active forum, based in Singapore - http://www.fishingkaki.com/forum/. It seems to cover all of south east Asia. Most appears devoted to specialised deepwater jigging and surface popping they do tackle they do tackle BIG fish including Dogtooth Tuna and Giant Trevally. But I guess many of the participants also 'traditionally' game fish.
