View Full Version : What kind of wire works best for haywire twists?
Some friends and I have been trying to make up wire leaders for an upcoming trip to the Turks and Caicos. The problem is when we test them, they fail well before they should. So is there a certain type of wire or brand that lends itself better to the haywire twist? Any thoughts would be great. Thanks, Dan

Malin stainless steel wire is excellent. May I ask how exactly are you testing your wire leaders? Have you ever tried 49 strand stainless steel cable?
Just crimp the cable to your terminal tackle and crimp a loop on the other end.
the size of the cable depends on the species you are targeting.
