Does anyone have any info on sport craft center consoles? Are they a decent boat? I am looking at a 1998 23ft.

I have a Sport-Craft 16ft center console.
I have only had it one season but I am impressed with the way it handles rough water. It sits low in the back and I worried about this until I got cought in a storm on Lake St. Clair(MI). I was still out there fishing while most of those cuddy cabin cork boats were bobing back to the marina. It seems to be a sturdy well made boat.

I owned a 25' Sportcraft "Fishmaster" cuddy for a couple of years. It was quite a good boat. It was heavy and rode pretty good. The only problem I had with it was that the bow was significantly deeper than the stern and would not drain (even on the trailer!). It had to be pumped out with a factory installed shower pump. The pump failed once which left 10" of water in the bow until I could get the pump replaced. Quite a pain. Other than that one design flaw the boat was great.

Another note... Sportcraft went out of business a couple of years ago. Bankrupt, not bought out. Therefore parts are out of the question alltogether.

Hi Neal,

I'm starting to look at boats and I'm interested in the Sport-Craft, just wondering if you puchased one and if you like it?

I have a 1999 Sport Craft Center Console since early 2000. It's an excellent offshore boat and handles heavy seas pretty good. I just repowered the boat with twin yamaha 150's. And I just listed it for sale.

I have a 2000 241 Walkaround for sale if anyone is interested. Nothing wrong with the boat, it has been very good to me; going back to a smaller center console which suits my fishing needs a lot better

I'm looking at a 98 23' and while researching sportcrafts I noticed alot of repower comments. Is that a common problem, were they sold underpowered. the one I'm looking at has a evinrude 225 oceanpro series..anyone know if this package is adequate.

I have a 2002 hardtop walk-around, with the 5.0 efi, alpha and mercury smart-guages. This is a great boat for ALL conditions. Only 100 hours of use and seriously for sale on LK St. Clair in Mi.

I've had a 20 ft. cc. 1986 sportcraft for 10 years, had to replace transom when i bought it, got great deal. It's been an excellent boat. A very solid boat, handles any kind of weather.
