31' Ocean Master is probably the most solidly built boat on the market. they are fishing machines. however after making several trips across the gulfstream the mod v hull is killer on the back. if you dont mind going slow or surgery later great boat. sold the ocean master and bought a 35 marlago after watching one blow by us at cruise in 4-6 ft with chop. 35 marlago isnt as well built but good set up and runs like a scalded dog in any conditions.

In four foot seas, they should be called the ocean smashers! They tend to be overpowered by their owners, so subsequently they don't trim out well.

I own a 1996 31 express, its being rebuilt, re-powered, painted and a new tower in NC. Its a hell of a boat, many of the custom builders like Spencer Yachts are very impressed with its lines and good looks, one of the builders asked if he could take measurements so he could copy the hull design. The boat did have a few things we changes such as raising the deck 6" in the front so I can see. We rebuilt it as a palm beach style boat and its really turning out well. We also repowered with Verados. I hope the do well.
