Gas or diesel? If it's diesel it's made by Cummins one of the most respected mfgrs in the world. And, a damn good engine.

mercruiser as a very reputable company. This is a small 4cyl gas engine. Is it good or bad? that totally on what its in. its always better to have fresh water cooling as well. the sterndrive assotiated with it is an alpha drive. You can pretty much expect to get about 1000 hrs out of it.
