International Game Fish Association (IGFA) will hold an IGFA CERTIFIED OBSERVER PRO-GRAM which will train and certify experienced anglers, boat captains and crew members as observers for fishing tournaments held around the world.
IGFA CERTIFIED OBSERVER training class will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the West Palm Beach Fishing Club’s headquarters.
Applications are available at IGFA website igfa.org, Certified Observer Program and at IGFA Headquarters. The applications must be completed, mailed or faxed (954-924-4299) to IGFA accompanied with a $150 fee (payable to IGFA) This fee covers the cost of the training class, an Observer's handbook with species identification video, and a one-year membership in IGFA.
The one-day training program will begin promptly at 9 a.m. with instructors covering the following topics:
• Species Identification
• IGFA Saltwater
Fishing Rules
& Regulations
• Safety at Sea
• Boating Etiquette
At conclusion of the instruction there will be a written exam, which will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete.
