Wow, nobdy ever even responded. Personally, I have never heard of marlin being caught in the Aegean. How far up into the sea are you? 8-10 knots is a good speed. No, you do not need sinkers unless you are dropping live baits down. I would try surface running trolling lures.

Interesting post as Turkey is not renowned (yet) for deep sea fishing. Any more news on your location?

Trolling speeds as afore mentioned seem great, depending on time of season (do you want to cover more water or cover less thoroughly?)

Ahmet, what type of marlin are you talking about, my guess would be whites, I've never heard of blues in the Med. Where abouts are you fishing from and what time of year, that part of the Med gets real hot (notice I didn't use the word warm) during the summer? Are you a private boat or are you in the charter game?

Look forward to your reply

Hi Oliver- Spalding is that in Sussex ? It rings a bell, im down in deepest Cornwall

Im Interested to hear anyting about potential bluewater fishing in Turkey. My father has an apartment in ''Side'' in Turkey. I've yet to visit but im sure if I had good fishing close by I would be over there like a shot. Have you any experience in that part of the world?

Cheers AG
