I'm a fly-fishing mycologist from the Netherlands and at the end of this
year I'm going for a holiday to La Palma, from the 29th of December to
the 5th of January. I intend to fish there along the coast (Los Cancajos). The only problem is, I don't have any experience with sea or coastal fly-fishing. My idea is: a #8 fast fly rod with a reel with an excellent drag, furthermore an intermediate and a fast-sinking line. This is just an idea but I don't know where to fish (at beaches or more remote parts?), how to fish (what tide or the technique) or which fly? Maybe someone has some experience with fly-fishing at La Palma or at sea coasts at the Canary Islands?

Kind Regards from Holland, Richard

I've got a book at home on destination fly fishing trips, including the Canary Islands, that lists everything you need to bring, etc. I'll bring it to the office on Monday (I'm hunting all weekend) and send you all the good parts. Send me a PM if you have a fax machine, and I'll just copy the entire chapter and send it to you that way, or if you'd like to just purchase the book, I'll be happy to send you all the info.
