Texas in April

I'm taking a trip to the Texas coast in April, probably somewhere around Corpus Christi/Padre Island. Can anyone give me a little info on what species to expect that time of the year.

Fly patterns would be a big help too. I've already got a few saltwater flies tied from Cabo last year, but tying different ones would be great, something to do over winter.

Not sure about that specific time but I think reds and specks are caught pretty much throughout the year on the flats in the area. Good place to check is www.texasflyreport.com. There are some guys on there that could tell you for sure. I have learned tons since joining their site.
