Hi,
does anybody know Holbox(Mexico ,north to Cancun),or ,better,someone fished there and he has good informations about it?
I'm thinking to go for silver on late spring-early summer 07 and i've see that Holbox is very popular for big tarpon (migratory)in clear and shallow water from May to early October and for resident babies all the year near lagoons and mangroves.
A guy told me that Holbox he fished only for baytarpon and due to bad wheather and sea conditions he never went on open sea to try and cast for bigger ones.
Maybe he went on the right place but in the wrong month or he only had a bad luck....sometimes it happens!!...but this doesn't means that the place isn't a good tarpon mecca for us!
Don't suggest me to go on CostaRica:D ,i know is a very productive hot spot for tarpon since long time.I'll go to RioP.on late september-october,but unfortunately for only 3,max4 days of flyfishing; i know also that fishing in C.Rica for really big tarpon means to go deep and blindcasting near river mouthsin muddy water with sinking head or extrasinking lines.....a really hard work!!
