Penn Reels Inter. vs. GLD

Hi,

I’m trying to decide between an International 50TW and a GLD 50II, apparently they both have pros and cons, regarding line capacity, 2speeds and weight, etc.

Locally I’ve heard good things about the GLD, regarding it’s light weight during tuff fights…. And the 2 speed deal is very nice to have when you are trolling with several rods and need to reel in often.

On the other hand others say that 50TW are forever and have no complaints. Is it true they are discontinued?:omg:

Own 6 of the GLD predecessors. They were previously the Formula 20's and 30's. I have had the 30's for about 4 years now, and absolutely love them. Very smooth, very reliable. Had previously tried the Shimano TLD. No comparison.

A freind of mine bought a 50 GLD II and my self two 30 GLD'sII nothing but problems as a result I sold mine and since have been using Avets with no problems
