reel maintaince question

I purchased a Quantum Catalyst inshore CI30PTS reel in June of 2005. I use it for saltwater fihsing. It sticks a little bit on a slow retrieve and I think it needs to be taken apart, cleaned and lubricated. The manufacturer says it should be cleand and lubricated annualy, which I agree with, by a qualified technician. I am considering attempting to clean and lubricate this reel myself. I have never taken apart a reel like this before. Does anyone have any thoughts about taking on this task myself versus taking it to a qualified technician?

It all deppends on how qualified you feel about yourself....:thumb:

I recomend you to start and the minute you feel you cant continue, just put it back together and take it to the shop....
