How far should tandem hooks be apart

When sailfishing, how far should tandems be apart from one another for best results? from hook bend on first hook to eye of stinger hook.

when we make our hook sets we rig the set with the second or trail hook so the end of the lure skirt is at the end of the shank, and the shank of the top hook is even with the eye of second hook.
