I was wondering if anyone has been fishing in Ecuador.? We go to a different country every Jan. to fish and this year we were set to fish the Galapagos islands. There is a moratorium on fishing there now so we are going to fish the mainland. So far, I've found out very little about Ecuador fishing and almost none about Salinas in particular. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.........Doug

Yes I've fished Salinas about 12 years ago.
Great little town with some excellent accommodation and restaurants as well some charter boats.
Fishing is about a one hour run on the Humboldt current and can be decent.
All kinds of commercial pressure though sometimes that's all a person sees is seiners.

However-before you write off Las Islas Galapagos check with http://santinitube.com/Galapagos.html.
I saw a post by the owner on another board-he says he has a license to fish the Galapagos and is definitely in business.

The other operation who were going to be operating there-Art************************-seems to be acting only as agent and has no boats on the water.
