Other than:

1. Not Fishing
2. Abandoning the fly rod for a 15 foot surfcasting rod.
3. Buying a spey rod.

Do any of you professionals have techniques to get your flies out to where the fish are...when the breakers average 8 ft?

ha ha ha...that seems all but unfishable with a fly rod. line control would be impossible. Best & safest to sit that one out!!!...or grab the surfboard:)
