My husband and I will be taking a trip to Aruba from Oct 20th to the 27th. I understand that is when Marlin season opens. Does anyone know the opening day for Marlin in Aruba? If anyone would like to recommend a company or charter they have good experience with, that would be greatly appreciated also. Thanks!

Hi,

I am unaware of a season for marlin fishing that area. (Anyone else heard of such?) That is normally a good month to fish Venezela which is right close by so one would assume it would be a good time to charter a boat for a few days in Aruba. Do not know the charters there.

Best of luck. Doc

Jeane if you go to www.world wide fishing guide.com ,then go to saltwater, then look under international, then click Aruba. There are two charters company's advertising there. I personally have not fished with either of these company's or in Aruba for that matter but I have fished in other country's! One problem you incounter is people trying to hustle you in to fishing with the boat or company they represent. A lot of them offer El Cheapos charter they can get you out fishing for less cost. The problem is some of them do not have the equiptment, or the concern about return customers, or quality. They figure its a one time deal and they will never see you again so they do not particularly care. I am not trying to over sell the company's that advertize on the various fishing sights, but it does cost good money to advertize on any of them. That in and of itself says something for them they must be doing some thing right. So if you do not get a responce to your request I suggest you inquire more check out the ones that advertize! I have a website currantly under reconstruction you can view at www.horizanadventures.com If you have any questions or I can help you in any way please feel free to contact me at horizan55la@hotmail.com and good luck on your vacation and fishing. I was in Aruba about that time last year and fished on the Thaisa. We went 2 for five on sailfish two different days. Hope you like rough water the wind always blows down there 15 to 20 mph out of the east everyday. We did good on sailfish but we also caught wahoo, jacks, and sharks. Sharks were very agressive eating trolled baits and hooked up wahoos and jacks. Caught many half fish. Just go to the ************************ in the afternoon and book your trip after talking to the captains at the end of there trips. All day trips are best for billfish. They can fish out of the wind but it might not be the best spot to fish. Hope this helps. Tight lines. Justblue
