Regards to all,

This thread is to congratulate persons on their new accomplishments.

To my friend from Key West congratulations on completing your Royal Slam of Billfish with your March catch in Kona on 'Keneka II' with Capt. Billy Dorr. Welcome to the Royal Club. (The last was that elusive spearfish.)

A belated congratulations to my friend (some folks don't want their names out there) who caught a super slam about December 11th in Venezuela (sword, white, sail and a blue); the only one I have heard of in 2006. And to your coincidental black marlin (some people have all the skill/luck) that slapped the transom in Costa Rica a month later. One species away from your Royal now.

To Jim Egbert of Gulf Shores catching a blue on 20# test (day 1) and a blue on a spinning rod (day 2) in Venezuela during a recent trip with me. You can't go wrong with a 'blue day'.

To Rick Allen for his second species (stripie) last Monday in Cabo. Rick got 3 Atlantic blues in March of '05 in Ven.

To Jeb Brantley (my eldest/21) for his 8th species (stripie) last Wednesday in Cabo.

Congrats to each of you.

Please use this thread to recognize your friends or kids.

Tight lines, Warren Brantley

Congratulations to Jeb Brantley (pardon me: a vested interest here/eldest son/age 21/I'm funding these excursions) completing his Royal Slam of Billfish as of this day (May 24, 2007) at 9:00 AM, two miles offshore of Kona fishing with Capt. Billy Dorr on "Why Knot". Using a Penn 130, trolling a new lure, the Blue was quickly subdued with massive drag (Kona Style!), leadered, tagged, lure extracted and released to fight again. In Kona a marlin over 500# is called "a Beast". It's a nice way to finish one's Royal. Congratulations Jeb on a job well done and welcome to the club. Thanks Billy, we always enjoy fishing with you. (This Capt. is good!!!) Regards to all, Capt. Warren Brantley
