I'm interested in any info on flats fishing in SOCAL. San Diego south bay I know pretty much about, though I'm really interested in technique and terminal tackle for fly fishing, but there must be other areas, do bonefish run anywhere else north of SD? Any salt water flats fishing in Northern California?

We get bonefish here?

I don't know about flats, but I can tell you the surf fishing is good

There are a couple of areas that could be called "flats", but I don't think they can be considered the same as the flats in Florida/Caribbean? or of Christmas Island/Hawaii.
The two I know of are the southern part of SD Bay by the Silver Strand and then up by Morro Bay in the southern part. I'm sure that also in San Francisco Bay there are some "flats" as well.
It seems that all of these areas are tucked inside of bays.
Does anybody else know of any?

In SD area that's all I kniow of, but no one calls them flats. And they don't produce like flats do, AFAIK.

In Ken Hanley's new book there is a picture of a guy with a bone that he caught in the LA area, but it doesn't say where. I would love to be able to check one off of my caught list this summer.
