I've tried a variety of flies in Key Biscayne for Spotted Sea Trout and all of them produce varied but slow results. Does anyone have a good color combination or style that works rather well for these little guys?
Thanks!

Razor,
For my $$, chartreuse/white clouser minnow. The eyes may need to be a bit heavier for the 5 foot range. I know up here in the Tampa Bay/Sarasota Bay area, when I get on trout, those flies don't last long.

I like to use gray over white and green over gray:thumb:

I fish the same area, and I use a popper, with a clouser after it, I guess the popper gets their attention, and then the clouser gets nailed, I have never really caught any big ones, 1-2 pounds, but still their trout, btw I use bright pink/yellow clouser, that combo slays the trout.

As odd as I feel using a pink and white lure.. they seem to kill on most saltwater species.
Will try that, thanks!

One of my favorite fly patterns for spotted seatrout is a Seaducer in yellow with grizzly flanks or red-and-white. The latter was so effective that in the 20s and 30s, commercial fishermen on the Banana and Indian river used them to target trout.
For deeper holding fish, the Deep Sillouette (basically a Seaducer with lead eyes tied under the shank to allow the fly to swim hook down) is a favorite go-to.

I second the Seaducer in Red and White. I've also caught them pretty well on a Copperhead tied in gold.
