I'm new to the forum and have a question about a rod I have. I've been told they're very rare but not sure. I have an Abel conventional saltwater rod that's a 7' 20-40lb. I aquired it about two years ago and only used it once. It's a beautiful rod and has a great action. Is it rare or do I just have a nice rod. I'm asking because I moved away from the ocean and was thinking about selling it but I'm not sure since I had the builder but my name on the rod. Who knows?

EDIT:

Deleted my original posting... I didn't know it wasn't a Fly rod.. I had no clue Abel ever made conventional rods.

Please post pictures of the rod, guides, butt section and name plate.

It's really hard to get a good picture that does the rod justice but this is all I can do for now. The abel signature isn't blue like it looks like in the pic. It's mostly all gold with a blue outline. You have to see this rod in the sun to really see it.

Any ideas about this rod? Anyone ever seen one? I know of a couple of them on the west coast but I've only seen one other than mine. I'd like to sell it. If someone wants it, make an offer. My email is steve_farris@cox.net
