I was thinking about getting into fly fishing and have several questions. I don't have a lot of money to spend (about 200-300), and would like a good all around fly outfit. I fish a lot ot flats from my kayak so most of the fish would be trout reds and snook, though I really want to get some bones permit and small tarpon too. Just to make it a little more difficult I have a nice canal behind my house with decent size largemouths 2-8lbs, so I wouldnt mind being able to cast to them as well. Thats not a necessity though. It seems abel ross and tibor are some of the best but way out of my price range. I have been looking at the pflueger trion, okuma helios, orvis battenkill, scierra big game and also the teton tioga (which seems good because it takes large or standard arbors in the same frame) I like the trion and it seems to get good reviews from different places but it doesn't hold that much backing on the spool. 100yds of 20# on the 8-10 wt. which is about what I should need If I'm not mistaken. maybe thats enough backing , but I figure if I ever do get a permit or bone I'll need more. Thanks for any help

If you are worried about backing capacity, you would probably gain at least 40 percent by going to gel-spun.
