Hello , My name is Merry Beth Ryan I am a freelance outdoor writer / freelance photographer living in southwest Florida near Boca Grande. I recently was informed about this great new female angler forum started by Chris Woodward at Sport Fishing magazine.

I think it is a great idea to have an all female fishig forum that can provide a site where lady anglers can go to stay connected with the world of fishing and a place to share information and share your fishing stories as well as a place to network.

Right now the fishing in my backyard has been great! We are still seeing some tarpon on the beaches and here we are into the month of November. We have had some great catches of spanish mackeral as well as kingfish this past week. Even caught some tarpon while kingfishing.Birds working a certain area holding schools of baitfish is a great indication that there are also bigger fish in that same area feeding on the baitfish.

The local beaches have been alive with several acres of bait fish with a variety of fish species feeding . Ladyfish, bluefish, bonita and mackeral , sharks and some really nice kingfish are working their way along the beaches following the bait.

On the inside snook and redfish have been being caught by many local anglers. It is that time of the year when the huge bull reds start showing up as well so keep an eye out for those as well . There will be no doubt what your seeing once you spot a big school of those bull reds. The water takes on a red colored glow.

The recent wind caused by "Noel" has kept us off the water a few days bit we are looking forward to returning to fishing soon when the weather allows us to do so safely.

I hope to be a regular visitor to this female angler forum and hope to meet some new fishing friends on here as well. It is a beautiful time of the year so if your able to get out and enjoy some great fishing when you can !
