Belize?

Can any one give any advise as to fishing in Ambergris cay Belize?

6-8 weight rods for bones, 9-10 for prermit and baby tarpon, 12 for big tarpon! The usual suspects as far as flies go.

I was there in June of '07 and had an awesome time !!! If you haven't gotten a guide yet, I highly recommend George Bradley. He will put you on fish and is a great person to spend the day with.

The previous rods wt's recommended were right on. I used a 6 wt (there was very little wind) for bones most of the time. Little pink shrimp size 6 and 8 seemed to work well. They weren't the biggest bones in the world, probably between 1-3 lbs, but they still make the reel scream.
Saw quite a few permit but couldn't convince any to take my fly. Was using a 9wt and throwing olive, green, brown crab patterns. Also had a blast casting to and catching some Jack Crevalle.

Belize is a beautiful country full of great people. My wife and I didn't want to leave.
