Has anybody used Scientific Anglers new SharkSkin line for fishing bones or tarpon? It's an expensive line with some pretty far out claims. Before I shell out $100 I'd like to know a little bit more about it from the real experts. Somebody that doesn't have a vested interest in selling the line. Thanks.
Heading back to Long Island, Bahamas for a couple of weeks of Bones in Mid April. Any recent reports would be most appreciated.

I have not used this line personally. Sci Anglers does make some pretty good line so I would assume their new stuff is good. Your best bet is to see if the fly shop has a rod/reel rigged with it and test cast it.

I bought some and tried it. It casts like crazy with no fly, but if you put a weighted clouser on the line (or anything with weight for that matter) it just won't throw it. It could be user error, too LOL
I think it is a really cool line, but two things bug me: One it seems to get dirty easy. Two, it makes a lot of noise (esp on the Loomis guides)
It will shoot, though. Man, will it.
