I have not personally tried this new jigging system as it is not out in my retail stores yet, but I am intrigued. The jigs themselves look quite interesting and I assume they will work just fine, but I am having trouble justifying over $700 for the "Fishing System" that they are selling. The reel is over $400 and the rod is priced at $200 plus the jigs themselves.

Does anyone have any more information on them or has anyone tried them?

IMO the whole thing is a bad joke.

Rod-any soft tipped muskie rod on the market will do the job for $100 or less that's what mine cost.

Reel-what's the latest model Calcutta go for now-heck the one I use is 10 years old and it works fine.

Jig-anything-and I mean anything jigged slow a foot off bottom will take groundfish no need for special hydrodynamic shapes/colours or hooks just get the thing down to where fish are.

True, but there has been much success with the Shimano Butterfly jig line. I suppose most fish don't know the difference between a $5 jig and a $25 jig.. but mabee they do. Look at Black Bart lures, $60 per lure vs $15 or so for cheaper brands.

i recently purchased one of the three ounce jigs, the orange one. I used it down in the gulf, we launched out of johns pass in tampa. I used it while my dad and uncle drifted dead baits for red grouper in about 100 feet of water. I think we were drifting a little too fast for a good presentation with the lucanus(everything i have seen says that slow is the way to go) but i still had some pretty good bites. I caught a couple of small red grouper and some reef fish. I lost a lot of the fish i had hooked up. It might have been because of the tiny hooks, i don't know (of course they are owners?) I probably just need some more practice with it. All in all it seemed like a pretty good bait to me.
