unfortunaltely, i just heard the bad news of our loss of capt dan timmons. But, i do not know any details except he was supposely hit by a motorcycle. Does anyone know of all the details of this horrific loss of a great person and of the accident itself??? this is a major loss of a wonderful person!!!! Any information would be greatly appreciated.

SEBASTIAN — Police have identified the pedestrian killed in a Saturday accident on Indian River Drive as the dockmaster at Captain Hiram's ************************.
Sebastian police said Daniel Timmons, 58, of Sebastian was struck by a motorcycle at 8:37 p.m. Saturday as he walked across the road in the 1600 block. Doctors at Holmes Regional Medical Center pronounced him dead Sunday afternoon, police spokesman Steve Marcinik said.
Officers will continue investigating the crash this week, including a brief closing of the road, Marcinik said. Indian River Drive will be closed 1 p.m.-2 p.m. Thursday from Davis Street to Jefferson Street to allow investigators full access to the accident scene, he said.
The driver of the motorcycle, Bryan Smith, 25, of Sebastian, was treated at the scene for a minor head injury, police said. His passenger, Tracy Griffin, 33, was not injured.
Timmons had spent several years as a boat captain before taking the job as dockmaster at Captain Hiram's a year and a half ago, said Colleen Johnson, assistant ************************ manager. Besides having a concern about boaters practicing good safety measures, Timmons also had a passion for the environment, she said.
"He was a great mentor and a dear friend," Johnson said. "He encouraged me to get my captain's license."
Timmons' family plan to bury him in Michigan, Johnson said, while Captain Hiram's staff members are planning a memorial service.
