Aloha Folks,

My first post here at Saltwater Fishing Forums, and just wanted to say Hello to everyone!

I'll be posting periodic reports from day to day on the updates for Lahaina Harbor weather, fish reports, bite reports, tide forecasting, etc.

Shall we begin?

Ono Noah checking in after a busy, billfish-filled 24 hours, I am back to give you the report from Lahaina Harbor, Maui.



First off, I would like to take this time to appreciate all the positive feedback and if it wasn't for you folks, none of this would be possible.





Now, back to the topic of this thread -- Something of a coincidence? Yesterday, Thursday July 31, 2008, the day I remembered and commemorated the beastly grander billfish caught last year in July...



Well, we fought one for 5 hours last night, and snagged earlier in the day that tipped the scales at 391 lbs.



This recognition of this beautiful fish must have springed a current line filled with marlin to Hawaiian waters.



Ask and you shall receive, Captain 'P-Rick' and Captain 'Steve-O' from Start Me Up getting recognized.

Captain 'Steve-O' and Captain 'P-Rick' always got 'Action'. Believe it folks, they get hooked up.

Great day of fishing.


So I'm getting ready to hit the hay and catch up on some much needed rest... when the phone rings and Captain Joel lets em know that he's got a 700+ striper on the line, and his four hour afternoon trip is already extended by 4 hours and looking to be about 5 before they even get near the harbor.

This 12-4 p.m. afternoon charter got hooked up at about 2:17 p.m. and didn't make it back to Lahaina Harbor until 7:41 p.m. Unfortunately, I was unable to get down to the harbor in time to snap a shot of it, but the marlin weighed in at an official 732.4 lbs.



This morning, Friday August 1, 2008 started off to a biting frenzy as they hit a school of sheebs and reeled in 30 before hooking up a 60 lb & 70 lb. Ahi that came up from the deep.

Being born and raised here on the island of Maui, Hawai'i, I have had the opportunity to tell people I'm the luckiest person in the world. I've lived in Brazil, Peru, Fiji, New Zealand, Canada, Argentina, several states, and when it comes down to it, there is truly no place like home. I am blessed in every facet of the word, and my humble thanks to all of you who support and appreciate the reports. I'll keep em coming, and just remember...
