I guess it is kinda like asking if the barn door is closed after the horse got out. I bought a new 26' twin vee yesterday with 2-2007 suzuki 150 4 strokes. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect or anything to look out for? Thanks for your help.

Should remove shroud and inspect all surfaces of motor. Look for any indication of salt water depsit. Will possibly corrode head gasket, then move to block casting and corrode from the inside. Will not be noticed until to late as it takes a great deal of time to happen. Check closely under flywheel for deposits. I had a 225 suzuki four stroke that had a porous casting, allowed salt water in and around all interior surfaces completely destroying the engine as it was 3 months past warranty suzuki basically told me to bad so sad, not a smidgen of repair or replacement assistance.

Ok, what that guy said is what i would say, suzuki is a very good outboard, the only thing i can tell you that happens with a new suzuki is the water pump likes to die soon, a sine of water pump failure is your pee hole on the motor spits less water, change that pump asap, and to prevent any future problmes. when you get out of the water, take the covers off and let it dry, dont let it get sun. and alwase run them with fresh water, i spray my motor down with WD-40, if you are going to do so, put a rag over any eletric parts and go to town, WD prevents all forms of rust and corosion.

They are very good motors. Sometimes parts take 4 months to get if they are not in the USA. Thats the only drawback. There is a boat captain waiting on a zuki powerhead being paid for by warranty for 6 months now in Fort Pierce, FL. You could have ordered that with e-tecs that have 5 year warranty and a better parts system.
