LODGE ASSISTANT MANAGER/CHEF
A Guatemalan Sport Fishing operation is looking for an Assistant Manager to help run their small exclusive owner operated lodge, catering to an up-market international clientele, located in Guatemala, Central America. The contract length would be from October 2008 to May 2009, with an option to renew for the following season.
Requirements
· Single male, 25-35 years of age
· A background in the hotel, resort, restaurant or tourism industry
· Good social skills
· Cooking experience
· Speak fluent English
· Spanish is not a pre-requisite but the motivation to learn the language while on the job, would be a pre-requisite
This would be a great opportunity for a young man to get some international work experience in one of the worlds top billfishing operations.
Job Description

· meal preparation
· overseeing dinning and bar service
· stocktaking
The position involves a lot of client and staff interaction. The working environment is laidback yet client service is of the utmost importance. Working hours are fairly long with few days off. An outgoing, confident, well balanced young man committed to the lodging industry would thrive in the environment and gain invaluable experience working alongside an experienced team. Salary would be U$1000.00 - U$1250.00 per month, including tips. All living expenses would be covered and would include a 10 day break over Christmas and New Year for some local travel and holiday.
