I bought a 84 sea ox with a 115 mariner. The boat runs in the mid 40s. The problem is that it pulls hard to the right once on plane. I have had many boats since my last outboard, and can`t remember how they ran. I have turned the trim fin all the way, and did not make a difference. It is flex cable steering. Could there be a hook in the bottom? Is this a trate of the sea ox? This is one solid boat, Not even a stress crack at the transom.

Do you have trim tabs on the boat? My EdgeWater hunts a lot if I do not trim the tabs down 50%

:gr_cheers: No, I do not have trim tabs. The boat is too old to spend the money to put them on. The motor seems to torque hard to the right. You can not let go of the wheel. Hope everyone has a great Christmas, and New Year.

a couple other ideas. take a look at the skeg. is it bent? are the motor mounts in good shape? worn ones can cause it sometimes if the engine twists. You may just have std cable steering, not a no-feedback style. makes a big difference. if your running a three blade prop, sometimes going to a 4-5 blade will take away some steering torque.

good luck.
