Hey fellow anglers, over here in Hopedale Louisiana the water is gone due to the North winds and High Pressure. But when this happens our redfish go on the hunt for food! Backs out of the water everywhere, if there are mullet in the area you can guarantee there are redfish hunting.

I fish the last two days out of my poling skiff and the reds were in every pond that was 8 inches or lower. The mullet are hemed up in these ponds and the reds are working them hard. Our water was clean yesterday but with the winds shifting to the south everything was off colored today.

Yesterday we had about 40 on spinning gear, everyone was caught sight fishing with 1/8oz jigheads and blurp shimp baits.

Today we had a stiff south wind but the fish dropped down into deeper water so fly fishing was a challenge. But we did manage 13 on the fly and 14 on spinning.

Our fishing is about to take off and I mean crazy!!! Our big reds are just starting to show up in numbers and next weeks charter wants to catch reds over 20#'s so it looks as if we are in for some awesome kick butt fishing!!

Good Luck and come see us sometime!! www.CaptainCharlie.com
