Do any of you folks ever fish for Trevally.. I see some GT stuff in the mags but I am just not financially fixed up to go to the Seychelles. What works in the Carribean and Florida?? I already have Clousers and Poppers.. basically looking for a searching pattern I can use off the shore.. prefer easy casting flies.. Any suggestions, pics etc would be greatly appreciated..
We don't have many Jacks here in Chehalis Washington.. just some odd fish called steelhead..
Thanks, roundboy MM

I live on Aitutaki in the Cook Islands and fish for trevally and some bonefish almost everyday. We have yellowfish, bluefin, blackfin trevally and GT's. Occasionaly you can pick up a Golden Trevally also. I stick with the clausers and have caught all of the above species on them. I am using size 1 hook and if I am going to fish off the reef then it is a size 1/0. The good thing here is that the bonefish consistently will pick up the clauser also. So I am not constantly changing flys out. Some of my clients have tossed poppers and had great results with trevally and queenfish. I am not much of a popper guy but have used them on occasion and done ok. Here on the Aitutaki Lagoon the clauser color of choice is yellow-white.
