Traveling Angler Beware!!!
Pacific Fins Resort in Buena Vista, Guatemala is not returning deposits nor providing refunds required by their refund policy posted on their terms and conditions page. If you still want to chance your trip and funds, pay your deposit/balance with a credit card. You can and probably will need to dispute the trip that you book with them. If you cancel or make any timely changes, you could lose most, if not all, of your money, like my clients and our agency did. I made several deposits to secure my client's trip and they have not responded to the client's timely cancellations, not even after 3 months. The trips were canceled in writing and by email within the timeframe and under the conditions specified in their policy and I have the canceled checks that Pacific Fins cashed, and still I cannot get the refunds after 3 months!
They were baiting and switching the boats and captains, letting anglers believe they have booked a trip with a particular crew or gameboat only to be changed at the last minute, even though Pacific Fins is aware at the time of booking the trip that said boats and captains would not be provided. If the gameboat and captain you will be fishing is important to you, get it in writing!!! Above all, insure your trip!!! Travel Guard (travelguard.com) and Travel Ex (travelex.com) can also protect you against this type of deceptive behavior!!! If you were booking a trip, I just saved you thousands of dollars, for free!!!
