Ok - here's something that's been bothering me...

Why do some regions of the world seem to be dominated by fiberglass boats and others by metal ones? I was reading a fishing mag from Australia, and noticed that there are NO fiberglass boats advertised. But on the east coast of the US one would be hard to come by...

Is this a regional thing or is there some practical explanation?

Yes, sir I belive it is. Metal boats (aluminum or steel) are most popular, outside the USofA. Most commercials use steel. It holds up well, is easier to maintain and doesn't burn well. My boats were wood and currently are steel. The next boat I'm having built will be wood again.
