What is your measurement from the bottom of the hull to the center of your prop shaft? What pitch and what type prop are you running?
I am having a horrible time setting up my 181 with a Optimax 90 on it. It has the worst holeshot I have ever had on a boat. It is 9 seconds! This is a lightweight,flats boat that should jump up on top better than 9 seconds. I have been testing with 1 person and 1/2 tank of gas. Nothing else in the boat. The best results come with the jack plate set to put the center of the shaft 4.5" below the bottom of the boat. Dealer is some help but not much. They changed the prop to a Trophy plus 4 blade 19 pitch but I don't think it is vented correctly. I have some of the large and medium size vent plugs coming in the mail. I wold like to know how your 181 is set up. Please respond or forward this to anyone you might know who is running one of these boats....Jim
