Hi,
I never think about the women much different from the guys. In fact some I know are a lot easyer to deal with than the guys.
Do fisherwomen in general need or even want to be treated different?
I am 62 so many of you are younger, stronger, and faster than me.
I try to let people do what they can. If you can drive the boat, then drive, rig bait--rig bait.
Women are always welcome on my boat, but in general you will not get treated different unless you ask.

Hi Billy, this is just my opinion: With regard to our abilities as anglers, treat us as you would anyone else. If we seem to know what we're doing, let us do it. If we don't, offer assistance. That appears to be what you're saying, and I applaud you. But let me add a couple of thoughts:
Basic truth -- we (female anglers) are different from male anglers. Our motives and attitudes toward fishing and our reasons FOR fishing are often different, our physical capabilities are often different. Many of us didn't grow up with dads to show us the ropes. Children who learn new skills are not expected to know everything; often adults don't cut each other the same kind of slack. I could write a book about how many touchy situations THAT creates.
It's wonderful that you welcome women aboard, and hopefully enjoy our company while fishing. This is a sport/activity that becomes a passion and can greatly add to the enjoyment of life -- for ALL of us.

Im sure they want to be treated equally of the men, but if they simply dont know what in the hell they are doing, they wont be allowed in my boat. however, if they do know how to bait their hook, and how to make the best out of a shitty situation then yes, they are welcome. for me, all depends on if they know what they are doing or not.

I have found that women are far better students than men when it comes to TRULY wanting to learn how to fish or boat. A lot of fisherMEN come to our classes with a bit of ego and the "Yeah, I've done that before" attitude.
Women who register for our Academies truly want to learn and LISTEN to what is being offered. They are a pleasure to have in class.
As far as our "On the Water" schools, women are far more methodical, patient and do better when their "Significant Other" is NOT on the boat. They are just more comfortable and less inhibited.
Oftentimes, the girls will get a few of their girlfriends together and take the classes as a group.
We enjoy having the Girls in our Fishing and Boating Schools. Honestly, they are better students !!
