20' key largo

Okay so we have a 20' key largo.
Everyone has been telling us to take it off shore we have a 75 gallon tank and a 250 yamaha.
I was wondering about how far off shore we could go any help would be nice thanks a lot

i have a 21' keywest bluewater, and i go offshore all the time. you just have to keep a close eye on the weather and pick and choose your days to go. last sunday i went 82 miles south and fished all day. i regularly go 20 to 60 miles and i have a 60 gallon tank w/yamaha 115, but im getting over 5 miles to a gallon and over three hundred to a full tank so running out of fuel is not a problem. do you have an offshore edition boat with a deep vee hull, if so you shouldnt have a problem just check the weather religously.
