Fished down in the Anna Maria Island area on Saturday for the tournament. Fred Ray and I worked many flats with many different baits. We saw many reds and snook mixed in with the mullet schools. The redfish were buried in the lush grass on the flats of Palma Sola Bay. You could not see these fish until you were on top of them and they had blown out. The tide was perfect for sight fishing but the reds were not showing themselves. I finally got this 22.25 incher on broken bottom working a weedless DOA CAL shadtail (Gold Rush). We saw many reds over the 30 inch mark, but no takers. Lots of snook seen but no takers. We didn't have the turnout we had hoped for, but we still managed to raise over $500 for the school. Big thanks to CCA-Polk, FWC, Off the Wall Adventures and Shiloh PTA for making it happen.
