I'm just back from four weeks fishing at Christmas Island, and can honestly say that the fishing is as good as ever. I didn't catch any great amount of big bones, but my largest was around 8 lbs. and I had a good number of 4-6 lb. fish. I'm generally not a fish counter, but I did keep count on one day that I fished without a guide just to get an idea of how I was doing. It was a great day, and I ended up with 46 bones. There were other days with that kind of fishing and I'd guess that I ended up with somewhere between 5 and 6 hundred fish for the trip. The Golden Trevally fishing was pretty good, and I caught three of them up to about 11 lbs. and pulled the hook on a few others. My guide had a few also,as did the couple of friends that were there throughout the trip. Mike's 15 lb. fish was the largest. There were some GT caught, with a 40 lb. fish being my best, while my guide Nareau landed one of around 70 lbs. I spent some time this year playing with the Trigger Fish and have to say they were a lot of fun. I probably landed 7 or 8 of them up to around 7 or 8 lbs., and lost quite a few in the coral and off the edges of the flats. They are very spirited battlers on the flats, and if you ever get the chance, give them a try. The weather, as always was good, and the islanders are very accommodating. It's a trip thay I highly reccommend.

My lord Jim, that is an insane trip with those kind of numbers. Any luck with the photos. Also, by chance, will you share some of the flies/baits that were producing for you?
