We've been live-baitin' it for the past week, trying to catch a few more rodeo entries the last few days of the tournament. We brought some nice 6-7 lb reds to the boat and a couple 4-4.5 lb trout but no tournament winner. Caught the trout on finger mullet and the reds on live shrimp.

We had a big group on this trip so I got my buddy, Chris, to help out and take half the crew. Ended up fishing with both boats side by side for half the trip on a school of reds and caught 40 between the two groups...they had a blast yelling back and forth every time someone would catch a bigger red . Late in the trip, Chris' group was able to get a couple spanish and a surprising pompano out on the flats.

Yesterday, the fishing was slow starting out and we were only able to get a 3 lb red and a 3 lb trout to the boat for the first two hours. I decided to get out of the protected pockets and fish some areas that we had caught a few nice fish for a redfish last weekend but were exposed to 15-20 mph southeast winds. As soon as we got there it was fish on. We caught some nice mid-slot reds, and a surprising 5 lb black drum.
