I left Ocean City Md.to find a job working the deck on a charter boat in Cairns, Australia. I knew Peter Wright and Mutt Coble who recommended me to Peter Bristow owner and captian of his boat Avalon.
Peter had a three day, day trip dharter. My 1st day we caught & released 3 black marlin est. wt. 250, 400, & 500 lbs I couldn't believe it, I usually didn't catch 3 blue marlin in a season out of Ocean City.
The next day at 11:00 we released a fish about 600 lbs. 2:00 we catch a fish weighing 1000 lbs. even. Eric Wortley took one and a half hours to bring the marlin to the boat. Brian wired and I gaffed him. It was incredible.
