This large black marlin put on a memorable show before his escape. This was at El Banco in Punta Mita Mexico.

This is actually a beautiful shot of a blue marlin. The way you can tell here is that the fish's pectoral fins are folded in, which blue ones do often when they jump. Black marlin, however, can not fold their pecks. That's an easy way to ID a marlin. The black's dorsal fin and head are a little different too, but you can't always tell especially while they're going bananas. Great photo!! Cheers!
