I caught this fish just after fishstock was over at river front park in New Smyrna at about 10:30 at night. It took about 10 to 15 minutes to land it and keep it away from the pylons but once we got it on the dock noone could believe what they saw, myself included. It was A 12.2 lb., 26" long tripletail. Me nor anyone else has ever heard or seen these fish come out of the river before. Iwas bottom fishing with squid in about 3 to 4 feet of water on the south side of the dock waiting for high tide to come in. The fishes size may be pretty average for a tripletail but the location is what i thought was very interesting. I guess with 4 foot sharks, 60 lb. tarpon, and giant reds becoming more common in the river other things are coming in too!?
