On Thursday I teamed up with my friend, Capt. Gary Giles, and we spend a short morning fishing for trout since neither of us had a charter that day. Early on the wind was down and we began wading the flats in Melbourne. Gary was throwing a fly and I was using spinning gear since i have a charter on Saturday and they don't fly fish. Fishing started off slow for me with a jig, but Gary was hammering them on fly right out of the gate. Then the wind picked up to 15 knots and the jig really began to produce. Alot of my fish hit right after the jig hit the water and began to drop to the bottom. Most of the trout were 12-15 inches. We fished until about 10am and caught quite a few trout until the wind just blew us off the flat. I'm hoping to have a nice day on Saturday since my friends relatives have booked me for the day but the weather is not looking to pleasant
