I heard about the first sharks being caught on Friday. Apparently private boat caught a dozen or so bluesharks. As far as
I know no charterboats have been offshore yet, but a couple will be sailing this week. And then on the weekend a lot will
be going. Star Islands shark tournament, which is the biggest of the season, will be on Friday and Saturday. They usually
have around 250 or so boats competing, and many of them are far from shy about spending fuel, so I知 sure there will be
more than a couple of makos and threshers brought back.

The fluke are spreading out and are now being taken in the rips as well as on the south side. The catching is great, but
the keeping is difficult. It痴 amazing that no matter what the size limit, there are always lots of fish a quarter inch or so
short. And, they never seem to grow up. I値l probably be sorry that I知 bringing this up, but I haven稚 heard of any
complaints about the dogfish yet, although I have heard that further south they are seeing some. Next week I値l probably
be bitching and moaning about them since I値l be out fishing myself.

Striped bass fishing is keeping steady, with a good supply of limits being taken by the charterboats. Apparently the Coast
Guard is serious about no bass fishing in the EEZ, since they have been seen patrolling the line.
