Hi all...........I have a 3 week fishing holiday to New Caledonia which for you out there who don't know where that is, its a small pacific island situated in proximity to vanuatu, fiji, tahiti and solomon islands. I will be mainly chasing Big game.....hopefully some big blue marlin. I was just curious to see if anyone has fished this area before or similar areas, and if anyone had suggestions as to what lures types and colours would give me the best chance in getting some big blues. I've heard of some Granders being caught there so hopefully fingers crossed I get to tangle with one........any ideas would be greatly appreciated
see latest blog on sfmag home page on new caledonia! look for a feature in
sf in may or so. but no offshore -- no opportunity. gorgeous mega-deep blue pacific surrounds entire lagoon -- should be fish aplenty. not much good infrastructure yet for sport fishing there but lovely place -- not what you might expect at a far pacific island. not cheap. very french. weight gain: certain. will be curious to hear how ya go, mate!
