    Default Cape Verde

Any new chat out there for this destination?

Booked for next May for 6 days fishing. Picked dates on the run up to a full moon, any views on this? I guess these may be split in terms of this being good or bad. Personally it was good in Kenya last year during this moon phase but that was down to luck than more than planning. I understand all things being equal (which in fishing they invariable are not) the fishing should be in full flow in this period.

I will be fishing out of Mindelo on HH2, anyone fished with these guys? As well as the blues I want to target AJ’s The hotspot for these is some way away so I'm told but the trip will encompass this. Anyone had a crack at these here, I understand the run to a large size. I will be jigging for them and might try a livebait if that’s suitable at the time.

I hope to busy with the big stuff but what else is on the agenda I can throw a popper at.

I look forward to hearing how the fishing turns out. This should be an outstanding trip. As for AJ's, big ones are tough as hell. I have battled many in the Louisiana gulf region. Please post pics upon your return.

    Guys,

Thanks for the replies. I have had a look at the board, good background and it sounds brilliant. I will keep you posted on my return, my trip can't come quick enough.

Having only caught one AJ in Kenya they certainly go well, it was hard work in 200 metres of water! Hopefully catch them in 40-100 metres if I can drag myself away from the blues.

    Cheers

    Hi,

Quick update before I go out for some food and few beers.

It could get easy for some people to be complacent about the opportunity at CV based on the numbers of fish that can be caught and the oppourtunity for multiple stikes and fish tagged. I and not one of them, having limited experience on this type of fishing the place can be amazing, even on what some people( not me by a long chaulk) might call an average day.

    Very briefly.

Day one 1 for 6, est 450 pounds

Day 2 jigging and went 1 for 1 between looking for marks to try jigging est 350 pounds.Various Jacks along the way.

Day 3 2 for about 5 ,est 550 and 350 and one big eye Tuna at 230 pounds.

Two days left, all to go for, I will update in due course

    Martin
